Where is Belgrade?

Surfing the Internet I’ve seen many people asking ‘where is Belgrade Serbia’. Considering rather high volume of searchers I think it won’t hurt to point out precisely where is Belgrade located.

Sometimes, it seems, people know much more about Beograd then about Serbia. It is surprising that so many people have no idea about Serbia. Otherwise, how to explain questions like ‘is Serbia in Russia or is Serbia a part of Russia.

In fact, some people (this refers predominantly for American tourists) mix Serbia with Siberia. At the first sight, there is a similarity, but they are completely different. Please read this article ‘Serbia through American eyes’, pointing out that ‘Serbia is not in Russia.

Siberia is a huge area on east side of Russia and Serbia is a small country located on Balkan peninsula. For that reason, the below map, visibly shows where is Serbia, and Belgrade as its capital.
